As we see in multitudes of patients, the spiritual power of a patient is very critical to their recovery. Any time a person discovers an illness, it shakes them to the core of their existence. They become humble and scared, and they need encouragement and positive influence from their family and friends.
When a person connects with Almighty G-d with intensity, through Torah, Teshuva and Tzedaka they become empowered with physical and spiritual strength.
The Torah teaches us how Teshuva, returning to G-d, will bring a full healing to the sick people. A physical ailment is a reflection of the spiritual malfunction. When we correct the spiritual problem, it will eliminate the physical illness. The medical treatment that doctors prescribe, is only part of the solution. In order for the medicine to work, we need a bigger force to be infused, and enhance the energy to accomplish the positive results. This is the blessings from Almighty G-d, who is the healer of all flesh.
A person who is looking for the truth in life, must be dedicated to act according to the standard of the Higher Authority. How does one become sick? obviously the illness comes from G-d. We must turn to G-d to have mercy to remove this sickness.How do we merit G-d's kindness? by doing kindness to other people who are in low spirits. One must trust in G-d's infinite power, and have strong faith, that the illness will disappear, with the help of the Almighty. If a person looses faith, they become weak and it is more difficult to recover.
We must always be aware of preventive medicine. The Torah's approach to avoiding a major physical calamity, is to be well protected with spiritual nourishment. Everyone of us needs extra blessings to be strengthened with our families and for all of Am Yisrael. We cannot rely on exercising the body, we must exercise our holy soul as well. When you are involved in bringing happiness to people who are sick, or needy, you will be rewarded from G-d to be healthy and happy. Hence, you will be able to continue your passion to extend joy and blessings to the humble and righteous members of our communities. There is an additional way to merit G-d's ongoing insurance, by praying on behalf of people who need a speedy recovery,and to pray for good people's well being.
